Founded in 1975 by former Assistant U.S. Attorney Roger E. Zuckerman, Zuckerman Spaeder LLP today has lawyers in offices in Washington, DC; New York; Tampa; and Baltimore. After five years in public service, Mr. Zuckerman established a nationally focused complex litigation practice based in the nation's capital. The practice quickly grew, and so did the firm. In 1976, Roger Spaeder joined the firm; he was soon followed by William W. Taylor, Peter R. Kolker, Bruce Goldstein, and Mark W. Foster. Recognizing the practice of litigation was becoming increasingly national in scope, the firm set on a course of expansion to provide a broad platform from which our lawyers could operate effectively and efficiently.
In 1987, the opening of our Baltimore office further expanded our ability to meet the needs of a rapidly growing client base throughout the greater Washington Metropolitan area and the Northeastern United States.
Through the turbulent 1980s, Florida's economic growth expanded at an explosive rate. Tampa emerged as the state's third largest city with a vibrant business community. In 1991, we opened our Tampa office to address the area's need for sophisticated litigation services. To better service our corporate clients, the firm opened our New York office in March 2004.
Despite our rapid growth, the firm has held fast to our litigation roots and remained focused on ensuring our clients' success — and the firm's place as one of the nation's premier litigation boutiques.
