Anant Kumar


Anant Kumar is an associate in Zuckerman Spaeder’s New York Office.

Before joining the firm, Anant served as a Staff Attorney at the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York, NY. While in that position, he partially briefed and argued the case People v. Luis Ortiz before the New York Court of Appeals, which resulted in a reversal of his client’s conviction.

Previously, he clerked for Hon. William Hendricks Yohn, Jr., in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

During law school, Anant, assisted and contributed his talents to numerous projects, including: the Capital Punishment Clinic, the Capital Assistance Project, the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project, and the Temporary Restraining Order Project. He was also a law clerk at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Maryland.

He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University, earning his undergraduate degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures.
