Douglas Miller's practice focuses on complex litigation in the white collar, commercial, class action, and securities fields. He also provides counsel in internal investigations and in matters relating to lobbyist and foreign agent registration, government ethics, and foreign investment in the United States. His pro bono work has included family law and criminal appellate matters.
Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder in June 2007, Mr. Miller was an associate at Shearman & Sterling, LLP. From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Miller served as a law clerk to the Honorable Irma S. Raker on the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
Mr. Miller graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004, earning the Vincent G. Panati Memorial Award for the highest GPA in Criminal Justice coursework. While at Georgetown, Mr. Miller served as a student attorney in the Georgetown Criminal Justice Clinic, as articles selection editor of the American Criminal Law Review, as a law clerk at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and as an intern to the Honorable Richard W. Roberts, U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1996.
Mr. Miller has taught on the adjunct faculty at The George Washington University Law School, and has published articles in the fields of legal history and white collar criminal procedure.
