Mr. Chaykin's practice focuses on complex criminal and quasi-criminal litigation with an emphasis on government program fraud, business fraud, criminal and civil RICO, securities fraud, SEC enforcement actions, and the representation of officers and directors in class action and shareholder derivative litigation.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Chaykin worked for nine years as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. During his tenure he served as Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Public Corruption Division. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts.
Mr. Chaykin has served on the faculty of numerous trial advocacy programs, including the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) and the Attorney General’s Trial Advocacy Institute for the U.S. Department of Justice. He was recently named one of South Florida's Top Lawyers by the South Florida Legal Guide and received the 1990 Director’s Award for Outstanding Service and six Special Achievement Awards from the U.S. Department of Justice.
