Ellen D. Marcus focuses her practice on commercial and complex civil litigation. Before joining Zuckerman Spaeder, from 2000 through 2003, she was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in Washington, DC. From September 1999 through September 2000, Ms. Marcus was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Leonie M. Brinkema of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria, Virginia.
Ms. Marcus has co-authored several articles on corporate governance and the federal securities laws, including: with Ralph C. Ferrara, "The QLCC: A chance to get things right," Directors & Boards, (Winter 2003) and "Item 9 Trends: A Window on Regulation FD in Action," Corporate Officers & Directors Liability Litigation Reporter (April 9, 2001).
Ms. Marcus received her law degree in 1999 from the Columbia University School of Law where she was a Senior Editor for the Columbia Law Review and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She received her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in political science from Amherst College in 1996. Ms. Marcus is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
