Patricia Montes de Oca focuses her practice on commercial litigation in both federal and state court. Ms. Montes de Oca has represented clients in various matters dealing with the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), statutory and common law fraud, and Intellectual Property disputes. Ms. Montes de Oca also handles appeals and has successfully argued before the Third District Court of Appeal on a defamation matter.
At the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Ms. Montes de Oca participated in the Middle-Atlantic Regionals of the 2001 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. In 1999, she served as judicial intern to the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In 1994-95, Ms. Montes de Oca attended L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques and L'Université d'Aix-Marseille in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Ms. Montes de Oca is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts. She is a member of the Cuban-American Bar Association. Ms. Montes de Oca is fluent in Spanish and French.
