Rebecca Ewing focuses her practice in the areas of white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation.
Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder, she coordinated volunteer attorneys for John Kerry for President and the Democratic National Committee while on leave from Baker Botts LLP. Ms. Ewing practiced high stakes civil and white collar criminal litigation as an associate at Baker Botts from 2001 to 2004, and was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Edmund V. Ludwig of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2000-2001.
She has worked on matters representing companies and individuals in federal grand jury investigations and post indictment, and she secured the reversal by the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit of the criminal conviction for homicide in furtherance of a drug conspiracy for a pro bono client. She has also been involved with an arbitration hearing of a multi-million dollar breach of fiduciary duty claim, and a bench trial of a business dispute in Philadelphia.
Ms. Ewing graduated from Harvard College, magna cum laude, in 1995, and received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 2000. While at Harvard Law School, she was an instructor for first-year Legal Research and Writing and was a senior editor of the "Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review."
