Blair G. Brown concentrates his practice in civil and criminal litigation and has tried numerous cases to final verdict. He has represented individual and corporate clients in a wide array of litigation matters, including white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions; tort actions, including legal and medical malpractice, wrongful death, civil rights, fraud, and trade secret cases; the defense of physicians and attorneys in professional disciplinary proceedings; and complex commercial arbitration and litigation. Before joining Zuckerman Spaeder, Mr. Brown was a staff attorney of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and became Deputy Chief of the Trial Division. He also served as pro se law clerk to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and as law clerk to Second Circuit Judge Leonard P. Moore.
Mr. Brown has served as a faculty member of the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Program and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, lectured on criminal and civil practice topics in continuing legal education programs, and appeared as a commentator on constitutional and criminal law issues on television programs and before the Council of the District of Columbia. He has published articles on grand jury investigations, federal sentencing law, and federal procurement fraud prosecutions. Active in the Bar, Mr. Brown served as Chairman of the Criminal Law and Individual Rights Section of the District of Columbia Bar (1990-1992) and on committees of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Innocence Project of the National Capital Region.
