Michael Smith is a partner at Zuckerman Spaeder with more than 20 years of experience in private practice. He represents and advises clients in civil and criminal litigation matters and in matters involving federal Indian law. He has also represented clients in securities law matters, banking matters, partnership and commercial litigation, psychiatric malpractice cases, cases arising under the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and fraud litigation.
Mr. Smith served as a law clerk to Chief Judge William Wayne Justice of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and to Judge Albert Tate, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. While in law school, he was a member of the Stanford Journal of International Studies and served on the Board of Editors for the Stanford Law Review.
Mr. Smith is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Louisiana.
