Karen Dietrich focuses her practice on white collar criminal and complex civil litigation and represents corporations and entities in matters involving employment discrimination, ERISA retaliation, director and officer liability, contract law, constitutional law,, and other matters. She has also represented clients under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice for a range of issues, including the sale of adulterated products, false statements to government agents, mail fraud, and violations of the Economic Espionage Act.
Ms. Dietrich is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. She is co-author of "Post-Employment Benefits: COBRA Continuation, Group Health Continuation under Massachusetts Law and Unemployment Benefits," published in Drafting Employment Documents in Massachusetts, 2002, and author of "Federal Affirmative Action After Adarand Constructors, Inc. v. Pena," 74 N.C.L.Rev. 1259 (1996).
Ms. Dietrich has handled numerous pro bono matters, representing victims of domestic violence, non-profit organizations, and indigents. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, and is a former member of the Domestic Violence Council of Boston. Ms. Dietrich speaks German fluently.
