Jim Sottile’s practice focuses on commercial litigation with particular emphasis on complex bankruptcy and insurance coverage matters. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has tried a wide range of commercial cases, including matters involving fraudulent conveyances, insurance coverage, securities fraud, and professional malpractice. Most recently, Mr. Sottile acted as lead trial counsel for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Tribune Company competing plan proceedings. He has represented the London Insurance Market in insurance coverage litigation involving asbestos, pollution, and lead paint claims for twelve years. Mr. Sottile has also represented the Lloyd’s Underwriters reinsured by Equitas in major settlements of insurance coverage claims involving asbestos, pollution and a wide variety of other exposures.
Mr. Sottile has been named a notable insurance practitioner in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers since 2005, and he was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in 2011.
