Ms. Barta's practice includes defending clients in legal malpractice actions, civil and criminal tax matters, shareholders' derivative actions, bankruptcies, and government investigations. She has worked extensively on behalf of pro bono clients, including day laborers, tax-exempt entities, and indigent criminal defendants. Ms. Barta's experience includes managing teams of attorneys and paralegals on long- and short-term discovery and investigations projects, and she has traveled extensively in support of cases across the country.

Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder, Ms. Barta represented progressive tax-exempt organizations in tax, trademark, employment, and corporate matters as an associate at a small boutique firm and was a commercial litigator at an international firm in Los Angeles, Calif.

Ms. Barta received a Masters in Biophysics and Human Physiology from Georgetown University, where she is currently a Master of Laws candidate in the taxation program.
