Laura E. Neish practices in the areas of complex civil litigation, securities litigation, and legal ethics and professional responsibility. Ms. Neish’s clients have included individuals, corporations, and not-for-profit institutions. She has extensive experience in federal and state courts, administrative tribunals, arbitrations, and mediations.

Ms. Neish recently represented a former executive who received a favorable ruling in a multimillion-dollar dispute over stock option payments. She also counseled a financial institution that won an appellate victory as to allegations of aiding and abetting a fraudulent scheme perpetrated by one of its customers.

Before joining Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, Ms. Neish was an associate in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. She clerked for the Honorable Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Neish earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, in 2001, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she served as articles editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law, and was co-coordinator of the Central American Refugee Clinic. She received her B.A. from Duke University, magna cum laude, in history in 1995.

    • Represents a former corporate officer in an SEC enforcement proceeding in federal district court.
    • Drafted an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in support of women retirees who were denied retirement credit for pregnancy leave.
