Leslie Berger Kiernan represents clients in congressional investigations, ethics and white collar criminal defense matters. For more than 20 years, she has worked with corporations, trade associations, governmental entities, and current and former public officials from both sides of the aisle on matters arising under the congressional gift rules, the Lobbying Disclosure Act the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and various federal and state conflict of interest and campaign finance laws. She has represented clients before committees of both the House and the Senate as well as the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, Offices of the Independent Counsel, Inspectors General, and the Federal Election Commission. She has conducted internal investigations for governmental and not-for-profit entities and also assisted clients in developing and implementing government affairs compliance programs.
Ms. Kiernan served on the firm’s Executive Committee and previously served as the firm’s Hiring Partner and Hiring Committee Chair. Before joining Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, Ms. Kiernan worked on the staff of the House Banking Committee. She is active in the firm’s pro bono efforts, including leading a team of lawyers helping day laborers shortchanged for their work cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina.
