Logan D. Smith represents clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including securities class action law suits and other business litigation. He also defends clients in connection with federal criminal matters, regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings, and other government investigations.

Mr. Smith has represented corporate executives, accountants, attorneys, corporations, and professional services firms in matters throughout the country. He has represented clients in connection with investigations of securities fraud, insider trading, and books and records violations before government agencies such as the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Additionally, he has served as counsel to receivers appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Federal Trade Commission.

In addition to his commercial and white collar work, Mr. Smith has maintained an active pro bono practice, working on cases for individuals and nonprofit organizations. For example, Mr. Smith represented nonprofit organizations dedicated to the interests of pediatric patients by defending federal regulations that improve the number of drug treatment options available to children. His pro bono work also has involved matters relating to employment and election law.

Mr. Smith previously worked at Zuckerman Spaeder LLP from 2002 to 2008 and has recently returned to the Washington, DC area to rejoin the firm. In the interim, Mr. Smith practiced law at a white collar litigation boutique law firm in San Diego, CA and served as a vice president and counsel for a former client and the renewable energy company the client helped create.

Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder in 2002, Mr. Smith was a law clerk to the Honorable Ellen Segal Huvelle in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
