R. Miles Clark practices in the areas of civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and appellate litigation. He has represented corporate executives and other individuals in government investigations, criminal proceedings, and civil litigation involving allegations of securities and accounting fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations. Mr. Clark is also involved in the firm’s Native American practice, which involves nationally significant litigation and political disputes with regard to land claims, trust land, gaming, and tax disputes.
Mr. Clark was a law clerk to the Honorable Ellen Segal Huvelle and to the Honorable William B. Bryant, both of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. A 2003 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Clark was a notes editor for the Georgetown Law Journal. He received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

Represents the former CFO of one of the world’s largest financial institutions against allegations arising from a multibillion dollar accounting restatement. This representation has encompassed multiple investigations, a government enforcement action for civil money penalties, employment litigation, and shareholder securities fraud suits.

Represents the former CEO of a health care services organization in a grand jury investigation concerning Medicare billings.

Represents the CEO of a multinational company in ongoing FCPA investigations.

Represented the former general counsel of a large financial institution in U.S. Department of Justice, regulatory, and congressional investigations.

Defended a New York-based hedge fund against claims by a large, publicly traded company seeking to prevent the fund from sponsoring a slate of candidates for its board of directors.

Represented an indigent defendant charged with attempted carjacking and felony murder.
