Zuckerman Spaeder LLP Takes New Office Space in New York to Accommodate Growth

January 11, 2012

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has relocated to provide space for its growing New York office. The firm will now be located at 1185 Avenue of the Americas and will occupy the 31st floor. The larger space will not only accommodate the three sought-after litigators who recently joined the firm, but it will also accommodate additional lawyers and support staff in the coming months. Zuckerman Spaeder, which is headquartered in Washington, DC, also has offices in Baltimore, MD and Tampa, FL.

In September 2011, Steven M. Cohen joined Zuckerman Spaeder to lead the expansion and development of its New York office. Mr. Cohen’s arrival was followed by the arrival of respected litigators Paul Shechtman and Andrew E. Tomback. The addition of these distinguished attorneys adds to the firm’s capacity to handle ‎a wide range of legal matters, including complex civil litigation, financial services ‎industry litigation, government investigations, white-collar criminal defense and crisis management, and provides a platform for further growth.

‎“With the move we have terrific new space in a great location that not only accommodates‎ our newest partners, ‎but also provides us needed flexibility for ‎continued growth in New York, and for ‎firm attorneys from other offices who ‎often work in New York,” said Zuckerman ‎Spaeder chairman Graeme W. Bush. ‎

The recent additions to Zuckerman Spaeder’s New York office have been immensely successful in their own rights—Mr. Cohen was formerly secretary and lead strategist to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo; Mr. Shechtman is one of New York’s most sought-after litigators and was Director of Criminal Justice under New York Governor Pataki; and Mr. Tomback has extensive regulatory litigation experience for high-profile clients. They join an existing team of Zuckerman Spaeder lawyers—based both in New York and elsewhere—who have been involved in many high-profile cases in local and federal courts in New York since the office’s opening in 2004. These new attorneys share the firm’s philosophy and vision, while bringing their unique perspectives and backgrounds from government, litigation, and corporate law.
