Zuckerman Spaeder LLP Featured in The National Law Journal’s Midsize Hot List

July 12, 2010

The National Law Journal has named Zuckerman Spaeder LLP to its 2010 “Midsize Hot List,” an annual recognition of U.S. law firms with 50-150 attorneys. According to The National Law Journal, the 2010 Midsize Hot List includes firms that “experienced a string of successes and that showed innovative ways to run their operations despite the economy.”

In its description of the firm, The National Law Journal writes, “Zuckerman Spaeder's strategy is simple: ‘staying focused on what you do well,’ said firm Chairman Graeme W. Bush. For the Washington-based litigation boutique, that means achieving big wins for clients.”

The article noted Mr. Bush’s role as special counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the bankruptcy of the Tribune Company, and partner Carl S. Kravitz’s work in negotiating a $72.5 million settlement against The Hartford Financial Services Group on behalf of a class of more that 21,000 members who had previously settled personal injury and workers’ compensation claims with The Hartford’s property and casualty company.

The National Law Journal also highlighted the firm’s commitment to pro bono work, noting that, “as busy at it is,” Zuckerman Spaeder recently received the District of Columbia Bar’s Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award.
