Zuckerman Spaeder LLP Names Jason M. Knott Partner

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that Jason M. Knott has been named partner. Mr. Knott, who joined Zuckerman Spaeder as an associate in 2007, is based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. He focuses his practice on civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government investigations. Mr. Knott is also a co-founder and contributing editor of Suits by Suits, a blog that analyzes emerging legal issues involving disputes between companies and their executives.

During his time at Zuckerman Spaeder, Mr. Knott has represented companies and individuals in a broad range of civil disputes involving contracts, shareholder rights, employment, and insurance. He has also represented clients in investigations by congressional committees and the Office of Congressional Ethics, and in criminal matters involving alleged violations of antitrust, environmental, gambling, foreign sanctions, and money laundering laws.

Mr. Knott is experienced in managing and conducting pretrial discovery and in preparing and taking cases to trial. He was a key member of the Zuckerman Spaeder trial team that in 2011 won a $5.3 million jury verdict on behalf of Matthew Lawlor, the former CEO of the first internet banking services provider.

Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder, Mr. Knott was an associate at Covington & Burling, where he focused on civil and criminal defense of pharmaceutical manufacturers and judgment enforcement actions. Mr. Knott is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and earned a B.A. with distinction from the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
