Paul B. Hynes Jr. focuses his practice on civil and criminal tax investigations and litigation. Mr. Hynes has represented clients in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, and the federal courts. His clients have included corporate and individual taxpayers, accounting and advisory firms, and tax professionals. Mr. Hynes also has experience working on complex civil litigation and white collar criminal defense matters.
Before joining Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, Mr. Hynes was a tax controversy associate at Latham & Watkins LLP. In addition, he previously served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Hilda R. Gage of the Michigan Court of Appeals.
Mr. Hynes graduated magna cum laude from the Washington College of Law at American University, where he served on the school’s law review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
