Top 250 Women in Litigation, Benchmark Litigation, 2013

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP partner Paula M. Junghans has been recognized as one of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation” by Benchmark Litigation. The recognition honors the accomplishments of leading female trial lawyers in the United States. 

Benchmark Litigation recognized Ms. Junghans for her more than 35 years of experience in white collar criminal defense and federal tax litigation. The publication also drew attention to Ms. Junghans’ extensive work on behalf of clients involved in federal criminal investigations and prosecutions involving conspiracy, fraud, environmental crime, and money laundering.

Ms. Junghans has the valuable perspective of having served both as a defense lawyer and a supervising prosecutor, and having tried both civil and criminal cases in courts across the country. As a prosecutor and Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Tax Division of the Department of Justice, Ms. Junghans supervised the litigation of tax cases throughout the United States. In her current practice, she draws on her experience in tax procedure, as well as in the interrelationship between criminal and civil tax issues, to counsel individuals and businesses on complex investigations and prosecutions.

Benchmark Litigation selected the Top 250 Women in Litigation based on targeted research completed during the annual Benchmark Litigation selection process. According to the publication, peer review and overall depth of litigation careers were important elements during this research.
