Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that Lisa M. Kilbride has been awarded the prestigious Florida Bar President’s 2025 Pro Bono Service Award for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. This award, established in 1981, honors lawyers for their “work on behalf of low-income and disadvantaged clients.”

Ms. Kilbride, who is based in the firm’s Tampa office, focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation, government investigations, and e-discovery issues. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication to pro bono work, significantly contributing to ensuring access to justice for those who cannot afford legal representation, particularly among vulnerable populations like youth.

Since she began volunteering with Crossroads For Florida Kids Inc. in 2013, Ms. Kilbride has devoted over 2,300 pro bono hours to representing children through the organization. The cases she handles often involve extraordinarily complex dependency, delinquency, and criminal proceedings. The Florida Bar praised her “zealous advocacy” in one extremely challenging and complex representation, which lasted four years. In 2017, Ms. Kilbride was also honored with the “Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Lawyer” award from the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida for her work with Crossroads For Florida Kids Inc.

"Lisa's commitment to pro bono service exemplifies the core values of Zuckerman Spaeder," said Founder of Zuckerman Spaeder’s Tampa Office and Crossroads For Florida Kids, Morris "Sandy" Weinberg Jr. "Her dedication to providing legal assistance to those in need reflects the highest standards of our profession, and we are immensely proud of her well-deserved recognition."

The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Awards are intended to encourage lawyers to volunteer legal services to the underprivileged by recognizing those who make public service commitments and raising public awareness of the substantial volunteer services provided by Florida lawyers to those who cannot afford legal fees. The Florida Bar recognized 21 lawyers at the Supreme Court of Florida during the award ceremony on Thursday, January 16.

Last year, Zuckerman Spaeder’s Tampa office received the “Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Law Firm” award from the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida. The award recognized the firm’s Tampa-based attorneys’ contribution of nearly 1,000 hours to pro bono engagements. These matters included extensive advocacy on behalf of children, a special juvenile immigrant case, a voting rights case, litigation concerning illegal ICE detention, and representing a church in aiding refugees from Afghanistan.
