Press Release
Zuckerman Spaeder attorneys once again earned more than 20 spots on the 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll, which recognizes attorneys licensed in D.C. who have contributed significant time to pro bono service for those who cannot afford legal counsel.
Since 2011, the honor roll has been managed by the D.C. Courts in partnership with the D.C. Access to Justice Commission and the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center. Attorneys who provide 50 hours or more of pro bono service are named to the Honor Roll and those who dedicate 100 hours or more are recognized as part of the High Honor Roll. In 2025, 17 Zuckerman Spaeder attorneys and three recent alumnae received the highest distinction.
D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby and Chief Judge Milton C. Lee Jr. of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia highlighted the impact of the honor roll recipients’ work, noting, “Whether assisting clients facing urgent legal challenges, supporting community organizations and small businesses, or contributing to systemic reform efforts, your work has a lasting and profound impact. Your dedication of time, expertise, and resources to individuals and communities who would otherwise go without legal representation reflects the highest ideals of the legal profession.”
Margarita O’Donnell, co-chair of Zuckerman Spaeder’s Pro Bono Program, shares, “Our pro bono work reflects deep dedication and a sense of lasting responsibility to our community. This year’s honor roll, which highlights the work of attorneys from across the firm, is a meaningful affirmation of that shared commitment.”
