Zuckerman Spaeder Names Maggie O’Donnell and Adam Abelson as Partners

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that Margarita O’Donnell Morales and Adam Abelson have been named as partners at the firm.

Ms. O’Donnell is an experienced trial attorney who focuses on white collar criminal defense and complex civil matters. She frequently represents individuals and corporations in government investigations, criminal prosecutions, and complex civil disputes. She previously served as a public defender in the District of Columbia.

Ms. O’Donnell maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on criminal defense and immigration matters. She is an active member of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Planning Committee for the National Institute on White Collar Crime, a Board Member of Rising for Justice (formerly D.C. Law Students in Court), and a member of the Hispanic Bar Association.

Mr. Abelson represents clients in complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government investigations. His defense work often includes cases involving allegations of complex financial or health care fraud. His civil litigation work covers securities enforcement actions, complex commercial disputes, and antitrust and legal malpractice matters. Mr. Abelson also represents health care providers and their patients in high-stakes disputes with health insurance companies.

Mr. Abelson was recently honored as one of the Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 for 2019. He received that recognition, in part, for his commitment to the City of Baltimore, where he serves as Vice President of the board of the Job Opportunities Task Force. He is also a member of the ABA’s Task Force on Building Public Trust in the American Justice System and was a co-author of the ABA’s Ten Guidelines on Court Fines and Fees.

Ms. O’Donnell graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University and earned her law degree from New York University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Mr. Abelson graduated cum laude from Princeton University and earned his law degree from New York University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude.
