On Thursday, October 30, 2008, Thomas B. Mason and Alexandra W. Miller presented "Ethics and Transactional Matters - Avoiding Conflicts of Interest," another program in Zuckerman Spaeder LLP's ongoing Ethics Seminars.

After a brief introductory review of the basic conflict rules for current and former clients, this session addressed key questions in identifying and avoiding conflicts in transactional matters, related to:

• Identifying the client
• Avoiding "accidental" or "de facto" clients

• Waivers, including advance waivers
