Bryan D. Thomson is an associate in the Baltimore office of Zuckerman Spaeder. He represents clients in a wide range of matters, including complex civil disputes and government investigations. He also has an active pro bono practice focused on representation of individuals in immigration proceedings.

Before joining the firm, Bryan was a law clerk to the Honorable Catherine C. Blake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.


Bryan graduated from Stanford Law School, where he served as Senior Editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. He was also a member of the International Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution Clinic, a board member of the Social Security Disability Pro Bono Project, and Co-President of the American Constitution Society and the National Lawyers Guild. While in law school, he was a legal researcher for the Public Justice Center, a sustainability policy intern for the Baltimore City Office of Sustainability, and a legal asylum representative for the Santa Fe Dreamers Project.

Representative matters
  • Represents a national pharmacy chain in defense of suits by state and local governments to recover costs alleged to have been caused by the shipment and dispensing of prescription opioids.
  • Represents plaintiffs in a lawsuit against New York State to enjoin unconstitutional spending.
  • Obtained a favorable settlement for a national health system in a dispute over a commercial agreement.
