Dermot W. Lynch
Dermot W. Lynch focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal investigations.
Dermot joins the firm with substantial experience in these areas. After clerking in a federal appeals and district court, Dermot completed a two-year Skadden Fellowship in Denver, Colorado, where he focused on providing legal representation to the thousands of mainly Peruvian shepherds who work on temporary agricultural visas across the Mountain West.
As part of his fellowship, Dermot was responsible for developing, initiating, and managing three federal lawsuits that raised challenges under the Sherman Act, the civil RICO statute, Nevada state law, and the Administrative Procedure Act. Dermot continues to work on the merits briefing in one of the shepherd cases as a pro bono matter, which is pending in federal court in Washington, DC. At the firm, Dermot has worked on a wide range of cases that complement his prior experiences, including in white-collar criminal matters and complex commercial litigation.
Dermot is fluent in Spanish and regularly reads, writes, and speaks the language in professional contexts. In addition to his active pro bono practice, Dermot is a board member and co-founder of Law School Yes We Can, a program designed to increase enrollment in law school for students from backgrounds under-represented in the profession. Prior to law school, Dermot worked as a Jesuit Volunteer for over two years in a small town in southern Peru.
